The world's climate is changing....
....the earth is getting warmer, and scientists now agree that we are helping to cause this climate change. In the Solar School, you will find out about how global warming works, how we contribute to it and what we can do to reduce our impacts.
Our resident Solar School students, Samantha and Terry,
will go with you on a journey through a number of virtual classrooms - each
classroom consists of pages which explore different aspects of climate change.
The pages also contain links to other solar school resources, such as....
On-line
quizzes
These will help you to check your understanding as you travel through the
Solar School. Each classroom has its own quiz, which you can enter by clicking
on the "quiz" tab at the left of each page. Or, you may leave the quiz until
you have read through each classroom. Then you will be guided to the quiz
from the last page.
Projects
You may carry out project activities as part of your classroom work at school.
These are usually group activities, and you will be guided by your class
teacher. However, if you are studying at home, you may wish to
carry out project work on your own. And as the Solar School develops, you
can add your work to the web site - where it will become a learning resource
for everyone!
Link-Up
This is Solar School's on-line student network. In Link-Up, you can communicate
with other students across Australia, and work together on projects and
activities. You can leave messages for your partners in one of the Link-Up
mailboxes.
The Library
There are thousands of websites that cover environmental topics. The Solar
School library contains resources and links to some of the best sites in
the world. You will find lots of material here that will help you through
your projects and activities.
So, you can see that the Solar School isn't too complicated! To get started, just go back to the home page, or go straight to the Greenhouse Effect classroom.
